The History of Phoenix House
.Phoenix House, Inc was founded in 1989 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization to help
persons that were struggling with substance abuse would be welcome and have a safe
place to come. Phoenix House provide a meeting/activity room for persons that want a
safe substance free meeting spot where a person can get a cup of coffee, an ear to
listen or someone that might help you with the struggles you are facing. The Phoenix
House program is designed as a mentoring structure so clients are willing to share their
experiences and the pitfalls of the disease with persons young and old alike.
Today Phoenix House oversees 2 homes, one for women and the other for men that have found
themselves down and out, homeless, and seeking help to find recovery. Through structured
living and life skills classes, clients learn to rebuild their lives. These classes are open to the
public free of charge.
